Mind Synergy

Joan Maycock

I worked in finance and EU Project Management for over 20 years when I qualified as a Professional Psychosocial Therapist in The Netherlands. I continued my education in psychology and achieved my MSc Health Psychology with distinction (phase 1) from the University of Ulster, England. This study linked the mind and body.

During and after my studies I worked with several organisations; in mediation, with the homeless, victim support, in suicide prevention and with school children with behavioural problems. My toolbox is large, containing a variety of methods, models and techniques such as Counselling, Mediation, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Thinking Styles, General, Clinical and Health Psychology, Transactional Analysis, Rational Emotive Therapy, Stress Management, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

In 2009 I set up my counselling practice, in 2014 I changed the name to Mind Synergy Int. Mind Synergy Int. supports and contributes to the European Union’s 3rd Health Programme 2014 – 2020 “for investing in people’s health and “for spending smarter but not necessarily more on sustainable health systems”. We do this through informing, educating and training directors, managers and staff on how to recognise individual stressors, be aware of physical and emotional signs of stressors, reduce psychosocial risks and cope better to improve their mental and physical health.

I am an experienced counsellor and psychologist. As well as working with associates on stress related health programmes, I write, develop and present evidence based, interactive, stress education and stress management workshops for corporate and private settings. These programmes are designed to give everyone an understanding of what stress actually is and how to reduce, prevent and manage not only personal stressors but also stress related illness, psychosocial risks, anxiety and depression. I am passionate about stress education.

Joyce Bergsma

Joyce is a qualified Nutritional Therapist, she studied and trained in London, England, before opening her clinic in 2010. She currently works from her clinic, delivering seminars, conducting workshops and giving personalised consultations.

Joyce says “Our bodies are these amazing organisms that can heal themselves when in the right environment and given the right fuel. That means they are affected by what we think, eat, breathe and soak into our skin as well as by the exercise we do. Our organs are interconnected, so when you start to heal one part of your body, the rest often follows. Equally, when we fill our environment with negative thoughts and unhealthy food, we challenge our health and reduce our body’s capacity to heal.

Wilsons Workouts

Lorna Wilson

I moved to Amsterdam to work for a telecoms company in the IT department.  At that time I really got a challenge from my work but eventually it was no longer giving me what I wanted from my work.  I thought that if I was no longer happy with what I was doing I should find something else that I enjoy more. I have always loved sport so 10 years ago I decided to train to become a personal trainer.  I quit my job and went to England for 3 months and became a Personal Trainer and a Sports Massage therapist. It wasn’t really my intention to start my own business but at that time there were only large gyms that I didn’t want to work for and that didn’t pay well so the best option was to start Wilson’s Workouts.  I started out cycling around Amsterdam training people in their own houses and outside in the parks. A few years ago I wanted expand my knowledge to help my clients further to help them reduce their chance of injury and train more efficiently so qualified to be an Advanced Biomechanics Coach. This has revolutionised my business and has helped clients achieve more in their training.  I now do more of my work at a small gym (Gym Base) in Amsterdam Oud West.

Erika Kennedy

I have a BIG dream….

I dream of changing the marketing world.  From searching how to please others, and cunningly find out which buttons to push to manipulate buyers, to…. Truth. Honesty. Authenticity.  Integrity. And thus; Empowerment.  Trust. Respect. And most importantly congruency.  These are pretty BIG things to aim for, but I believe these are the pillars to sustainability.

So, how do I approach this? I am a Personal Branding coach & trainer. I coach entrepreneurs privately, I give workshops for entrepreneurs and career oriented, I train other consultants, and because I believe children are the future I teach children. Personal Branding from the inside out, with a strong focus on Identity.  Which is basically positioning from the heart.  Children of course do not need more focus on external world, so in schools I teach Design Thinking, Leadership, Core Values (internal compass) and again strong focus on Identity.  I believe everybody should do what makes them happy and find some kind of fulfilment in work & life.  I help people get to their essence, which helps them make choices. Being able to make good choices is a virtue all great leaders show.

At the moment I am writing a book with my holistic approach, I hope to be done in May or June.  If you are curious Eva Connections will be organizing a workshop for me, where we will dive a bit deeper into the subject of identity.  Who am I? What really matters to me? Where am I heading to?  What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses (learning spots of potential gold!), what are my values? And why do they matter to me?  Things that we all ask ourselves from time to time.  And if you are not, it might be time to take a closer look.  Alongside Kennedy Branding, I am in the process of building Amsterdam Personal Branding with my colleague Luisa Machacon with this ideology.  And I believe I will be the first of many. I believe our times are changing. And this is ONE of my contributions.

If the world of marketing and branding will change in this direction, I will be happy!
