Mind Synergy

Joan Maycock

I worked in finance and EU Project Management for over 20 years when I qualified as a Professional Psychosocial Therapist in The Netherlands. I continued my education in psychology and achieved my MSc Health Psychology with distinction (phase 1) from the University of Ulster, England. This study linked the mind and body.

During and after my studies I worked with several organisations; in mediation, with the homeless, victim support, in suicide prevention and with school children with behavioural problems. My toolbox is large, containing a variety of methods, models and techniques such as Counselling, Mediation, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Thinking Styles, General, Clinical and Health Psychology, Transactional Analysis, Rational Emotive Therapy, Stress Management, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

In 2009 I set up my counselling practice, in 2014 I changed the name to Mind Synergy Int. Mind Synergy Int. supports and contributes to the European Union’s 3rd Health Programme 2014 – 2020 “for investing in people’s health and “for spending smarter but not necessarily more on sustainable health systems”. We do this through informing, educating and training directors, managers and staff on how to recognise individual stressors, be aware of physical and emotional signs of stressors, reduce psychosocial risks and cope better to improve their mental and physical health.

I am an experienced counsellor and psychologist. As well as working with associates on stress related health programmes, I write, develop and present evidence based, interactive, stress education and stress management workshops for corporate and private settings. These programmes are designed to give everyone an understanding of what stress actually is and how to reduce, prevent and manage not only personal stressors but also stress related illness, psychosocial risks, anxiety and depression. I am passionate about stress education.

The Well Traveled Kitchen

Jennifer Kular

I am a teacher and in the past 32 years, I’ve taught in Canada, Hungary, and The Netherlands, working with students from elementary through to high school. While I do enjoy my time with my high school students, I chose to take a sabbatical this year so I could recharge my batteries, travel, and spend more time cooking. In this year off I have had a lot of time to reflect on the importance of keeping balance in my life. For me, this means not oversubscribing myself to too many commitments and making sure my body is properly fueled when I am on the go. Planning ahead, and putting in time toward meal prep, goes a long way. Healthy breakfasts I can enjoy on the train, lunches that are packed with wholesome foods, and delicious dinners that are easy to pull together, all make sense to me.

I have taken a course in culinary nutrition which enables me to educate people on optimal food choices for a healthy lifestyle. While I am happy to spend all day in the kitchen, when working at a full-time job, I know the value in taking a few extra steps to get organized to have ingredients at the ready, to prepare healthy meals in a busy week.

Recipe development, menu planning, and cooking workshops are where my energy is currently directed. Truly, any day that I wake up and know my time will be spent in the kitchen, is a great day for me. As a seasoned teacher, it brings me joy to share with others; if I can make someone else’s time in the kitchen a little easier, my job is blissfully done.

With Eva Connections I will offer a few cooking demonstrations where I hope to show you how easy it is to make some small changes when planning and creating nourishing meals. I can sit with you to learn about your needs whether that be organizing your pantry, taking part in a kitchen clean-out, guiding you through the grocery store and deciphering food labels, setting up a realistic meal plan and giving you recipes to create healthy dishes in a reasonable amount of time.  As well, I can offer personal cooking lessons, in your home.

Sandra de Gelder

Certified hypnotherapist and transformation coach

After a successful career in the corporate sector, I realised that I had so much more ambition and potential, so took a bold leap and reinvented myself and my career. I have always been fascinated by the mind-body connection and knew from an early age that our potential goes far beyond our rational mind’s ability. Many personal development courses, workshops, events and coachings later, I found exactly what I as looking for in Marisa Peer’s Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) and I retrained to be an RTT therapist.

Now I am dedicated to inspire and support people to keep growing and move towards their potential that expands as they move towards it. I do this by offering Rapid Transformational Therapy sessions, workshops, courses as well as transformational coaching. From my practice on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam I can help you rediscover and reinvent yourself.

RTT, developed by British psychotherapist Marisa Peer, is an innovative, scientifically proven modality based on hypnosis, neuroscience, NLP and cognitive behavioural therapy. It allows us to recognise and interrupts limiting beliefs and patterns that are deeply programmed into our subconscious mind. It is a powerful way to liberate people from the beliefs and thoughts that are holding them back and launch them towards their highest potential. During hypnosis your conscious mind and thoughts are led to another frequency so that you are in direct touch with your subconscious mind.

I challenge you to reprogram yourself – are you up for it?

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift.
— Albert Einstein

Joyce Bergsma

Joyce is a qualified Nutritional Therapist, she studied and trained in London, England, before opening her clinic in 2010. She currently works from her clinic, delivering seminars, conducting workshops and giving personalised consultations.

Joyce says “Our bodies are these amazing organisms that can heal themselves when in the right environment and given the right fuel. That means they are affected by what we think, eat, breathe and soak into our skin as well as by the exercise we do. Our organs are interconnected, so when you start to heal one part of your body, the rest often follows. Equally, when we fill our environment with negative thoughts and unhealthy food, we challenge our health and reduce our body’s capacity to heal.

Antoinette was employee number 3 in Avanade UK and helped grow the company to 100 employees in its first year and then 40% a year after that.

That was the inspiration behind Antoinette’s first book, “Grow Your Geeks – A Handbook for Developing Leaders in High-Tech Organisations.” Antoinette believes there is incredible power at the intersection of leadership development and career management. Erika Kennedy

I have a BIG dream….

I dream of changing the marketing world.  From searching how to please others, and cunningly find out which buttons to push to manipulate buyers, to…. Truth. Honesty. Authenticity.  Integrity. And thus; Empowerment.  Trust. Respect. And most importantly congruency.  These are pretty BIG things to aim for, but I believe these are the pillars to sustainability.

So, how do I approach this? I am a Personal Branding coach & trainer. I coach entrepreneurs privately, I give workshops for entrepreneurs and career oriented, I train other consultants, and because I believe children are the future I teach children. Personal Branding from the inside out, with a strong focus on Identity.  Which is basically positioning from the heart.  Children of course do not need more focus on external world, so in schools I teach Design Thinking, Leadership, Core Values (internal compass) and again strong focus on Identity.  I believe everybody should do what makes them happy and find some kind of fulfilment in work & life.  I help people get to their essence, which helps them make choices. Being able to make good choices is a virtue all great leaders show.

At the moment I am writing a book with my holistic approach, I hope to be done in May or June.  If you are curious Eva Connections will be organizing a workshop for me, where we will dive a bit deeper into the subject of identity.  Who am I? What really matters to me? Where am I heading to?  What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses (learning spots of potential gold!), what are my values? And why do they matter to me?  Things that we all ask ourselves from time to time.  And if you are not, it might be time to take a closer look.  Alongside Kennedy Branding, I am in the process of building Amsterdam Personal Branding with my colleague Luisa Machacon with this ideology.  And I believe I will be the first of many. I believe our times are changing. And this is ONE of my contributions.

If the world of marketing and branding will change in this direction, I will be happy!

Anna van der Horst

Anna van der Horst

Postdoctoral researcher in organizational psychology at the Justus Liebig University (Germany)
HR-consultant at eelloo, focusing on employability, proactive career behavior and identity.

To many people, work is so much more than just a job. Work that suits us well has a positive impact on how we see ourselves, on our identity, our outlook on the future and our health. People grow stronger and achieve more when they have the opportunity to contribute to things that are important to them. With my work as a researcher and HR-consultant I want to make people feel proud of themselves and the work they do, and help organizations create a work environment that puts people first.

After studying organizational psychology, I worked as an assessment psychologist and career coach. I realized I wanted to know more about how people can make the right choices in their careers and I became interested in research. In 2010 I started working for eelloo, a Dutch consultancy firm where we focus on changing Human Resources in to Resources for Humans. We do this by changing the way people work and by developing online tools that help people discover their strengths and take control over their own careers.

During my PhD. research on proactive career behavior I discovered how important it is for people to shape their career and choose direction. With the right combination of online tools and personal feedback, people can learn how to be proactive and make more focused decisions.

Together with Eva Connections I will be setting up a workshop series where you can work on writing your personal story. By writing a coherent story about your life and career you discover what is meaningful to you in your work and what career decisions will help you forward.

In uncertain times and in an uncertain business environment, we need leaders with a real presence to navigate the new and unknown; I specialise in helping emerging leaders to develop their impact and presence, creating the influence and engagement they need to fuel their own careers and for their organisation to experience continued growth and results.

Leadership presence is about taking your existing attributes, skills and talents and polishing them so they shine so brightly, that others can’t ignore you. And you don’t have to a world leader to have it!

Leadership Presence is good for your career, your team, your organisation and the economy.

I design and deliver award-winning training and leadership programmes, and have been teaching, training and coaching for over 25 years now. In 2002, as a single mum and teacher, I moved to Borneo with my 9-year-old son, where I lived and worked for five years, before moving to Belize in Central America for three years.

When I returned to live in the UK in 2010, I retrained as a coach and now run my own leadership development business. My international experience and moves taught me how to establish myself quickly and with impact in new and unknown cultures and environments – knowledge and experience that informs my work with clients today.

I’m an executive and leadership coach, NLP Practitioner and full member of the UK Association for Coaching.
I’m also the author of two books: Strategies for Being Brilliant: 21 Ways to be Happy, Confident and Successful, and my latest book, Strategies for being Visible: 14 Profile-raising Ideas for Emerging Female Leaders.

I work with both individuals, and private and public-sector clients both in the UK and internationally including the BBC, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the NHS, Tower Hamlets Homes, and various charities and universities.
